The Ted Gärdestad Memorial Fund is being used to fund a scholarship once a year. The aim of the scholarship is to support and encourage young composers and artists, who writes and performs their own songs.
The people behind the foundation are Kenneth Gärdestad and Janne Schaffer. The Ted Gärdestad Memorial Fund is a foundation managed by SAMI (Swedish Artists and Musicians Interests organisation), which was established in 1963 on initiative by trade unions of musicians and artists.
SAMI is an interest organisation that looks out for copyright interests of artists and musicians.
The tasks of SAMI includes safeguarding and promoting rights and economical interests of artists and musicians within the framework of Swedish and international copyright laws.
Our affiliates are represented by artists and musicians in Sweden, who has participated at a recording at a record company.
SAMI publishes a periodical, Intermezzo, which is published four times per year.
